Army Soldier Dies In Kishanganga River Drowning In Gurez

Bandipora, Aug 27: An Army soldier died after drowning in the Kishanganga River near Tarbal village in the Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Ashiq Hussain Khan.

Following the incident, a rescue operation was launched in the area. The soldier’s body was recovered from the river during the operation.

The body was later shifted to Dawar Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case to determine the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
