
Srinagar, Oct 1: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has directed government and government-recognised private schools across Kashmir division to conduct summative assessments and annual examinations up to Class 8 in accordance with the prescribed government framework and approved academic calendar.
The directions were issued by the Inspection and Monitoring Wing of DSEK through a circular referencing the relevant School Education Department orders and academic planner for the current session.
The Directorate stressed the need for competency-based assessments in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Schools have also been directed to focus on remedial teaching, supplementary examination opportunities, implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC), PARAKH-aligned assessment practices, proper assessment data management and regular Parent-Teacher Meetings.
Chief Education Officers, Cluster Heads, Zonal Education Officers and Heads of Institutions have been asked to ensure strict compliance with the approved academic calendar and assessment framework.
CEOs will oversee implementation in their respective jurisdictions, while ZEOs and Cluster Heads will monitor compliance at the zonal and cluster levels.
Heads of Institutions have been instructed to ensure that summative assessments and related academic activities are conducted properly and on time, without deviation from the approved schedule.
