Governor Manipur pays tribute to Assam Rifles martyrs

Imphal, July 9: The Governor of Manipur paid solemn tributes to two Assam Rifles personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during a wreath-laying ceremony held at Imphal Airport on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur, Shri Kuldiep Singh, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Corps Lt. Gen. Girish Kalia, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Maj. Gen. Gaurav Sharma, along with senior officers of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and civil administration.
Floral wreaths were laid in honour of the fallen soldiers, whose sacrifice was remembered with full military honours. The ceremony reflected the nation's gratitude and respect for the brave personnel who laid down their lives while safeguarding the country's security and maintaining peace in the region.
The Governor conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and acknowledged the unwavering courage, dedication and selfless service of the martyrs. He said their supreme sacrifice would always remain a source of inspiration for the nation and reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the families of the fallen heroes.
Senior Army and Assam Rifles officers also paid homage, observing a moment of silence in memory of the brave soldiers. They reiterated that the courage, professionalism and devotion to duty displayed by the martyrs exemplify the highest traditions of the armed forces.
