Anantnag, Sep 21: Anantnag Police have arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized charas and ganja during an anti-narcotics operation in Ashajipora, officials said.

The arrested person has been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh of Nazuk Mohalla, Ganjiwara.

Police said the accused was intercepted during a checking operation at Ashajipora. A search led to the recovery of 3 grams of charas in stick form and 357 grams of ganja.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 319/2026, and further investigation is in progress.

Police said the action forms part of their ongoing drive against drug trafficking and the distribution of narcotic substances in Anantnag district.
