IGP Kashmir Reviews Security Arrangements Ahead of International Film Festival

Srinagar, Sep 4: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar on Friday chaired a security review meeting at Police Control Room Kashmir to assess preparedness for the forthcoming International Film Festival.

The meeting focused on strengthening security arrangements and ensuring coordinated preparedness for the smooth and secure conduct of the festival.

Senior officers from the Special Branch, SSB, ITBP, CID Kashmir, CKR Srinagar, Traffic, Armed and IR units, CRPF, BSF, Police, Railways, Security, SDRF, Army's 15 Corps, Information, Tourism and Fire and Emergency Services attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the IGP reviewed the overall security plan, deployment arrangements and preparedness at venues identified for the festival.

Detailed discussions were held on venue security, access control, surveillance, crowd management, traffic regulation, emergency response and coordination among participating agencies.

Sujit Kumar directed officers to ensure adequate and strategic deployment at all festival venues, keeping in view the expected movement of visitors, participants and dignitaries.

He also called for thorough route clearance and deployment of Road Opening Parties along designated routes to ensure secure movement.

Officers were directed to strengthen crowd management, regulate entry and exit points and prepare effective traffic plans to minimise inconvenience to the general public.

The IGP stressed the importance of close coordination and real-time information sharing among all agencies involved in the security arrangements.

He also directed officers to maintain heightened alertness and strengthen surveillance to ensure a robust security grid throughout the festival.

The meeting concluded with a detailed assessment of the preparedness measures and directions to further strengthen security arrangements in coordination with all concerned agencies.
