New Delhi, Oct 29: Gold prices remained stable in the national capital on Thursday at around Rs 1.46 lakh per 10 grams, while silver prices increased by Rs 500 per kilogram amid fluctuations in the international bullion market.
Silver was priced at Rs 1,98,500 per kilogram, inclusive of all taxes, compared with Rs 1,98,000 recorded in the previous session.
Market sentiment remained cautious as elevated bullion prices continued to weigh on fresh buying. Developments in international markets also influenced domestic price movements, with investors assessing the outlook for US monetary policy and broader economic conditions.
In the international market, spot gold declined by USD 49.38, or 1.21 per cent, to USD 4,018.08 per ounce. Spot silver also witnessed a fall of around 3 per cent, trading at USD 52.41 per ounce.
Analysts said expectations surrounding the US Federal Reserve's interest rate policy remained a key factor affecting precious metals. A cautious policy outlook, along with concerns over persistent inflation and energy prices, continued to put pressure on bullion.
Higher crude oil prices have added to inflation concerns, while movements in US Treasury yields and equity markets have contributed to uncertainty among investors.
Despite the recent pressure, continued purchases by central banks and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties could offer some support to gold prices in the coming sessions. Market participants are expected to closely monitor international economic developments and monetary policy signals for further direction.
