Army Commander reviews J&K security preparedness

Jammu: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, chaired a comprehensive Security Review and Coordination Meeting in Srinagar with senior representatives and key stakeholders to assess the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and the evolving security dynamics across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma was briefed by the Joint Control Centres (JCCs) on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and emerging security challenges. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination among security agencies, ensuring timely intelligence sharing and maintaining a high level of operational readiness.The Army Commander appreciated all stakeholders for maintaining the desired inter-agency synergy, seamless coordination and expeditious dissemination of intelligence. He emphasised that close coordination and timely sharing of actionable information are vital for effectively responding to emerging security challenges.
Lt Gen Pratik Sharma underscored the need for continued operational preparedness and a proactive approach, directing all concerned to remain vigilant and responsive to the changing security environment.Underlining his hands-on approach to security management, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma has also been continuously visiting different areas of Jammu and Kashmir to personally assess the security situation, interact with field formations and review operational preparedness. His regular visits to forward and strategically important areas reflect his focus on maintaining ground-level awareness and ensuring that security mechanisms remain alert and effective.
His sustained engagement with troops and security stakeholders has further strengthened coordination and preparedness across the region. By regularly reviewing the situation on the ground and monitoring emerging security dynamics, the Army Commander has reinforced the importance of vigilance, responsiveness and coordinated action in safeguarding peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.The Srinagar meeting once again highlighted the Northern Command’s continued focus on operational readiness, intelligence-driven security measures and close inter-agency coordination under the leadership of Lt Gen Pratik Sharma.
