Dimnapur , Aug 10: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a series of outreach programmes across Mizoram, Nagaland and Manipur to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram, engaging students, youth and local communities in activities centred on patriotism, national heritage and unity.

In Mizoram, painting competitions were organised at Ngopa and Zokhawsang, providing schoolchildren and young participants an opportunity to express their understanding of patriotism and national identity through art.
At Kohima in Nagaland, Assam Rifles conducted community outreach through the distribution of posters and pamphlets highlighting the significance of Vande Mataram. A Tiranga distribution programme was also organised at Government High School, encouraging students to participate in the celebrations and reinforcing the message of national pride and unity.
In Manipur, a Tiranga Rally-cum-Painting Competition was organised at Satudai in Noney district. Students and teachers participated in the programme, which combined creative expression with a public display of national solidarity.
The initiatives were aimed at strengthening community engagement and fostering a sense of national integration, particularly among young people. Through school-based activities, rallies and public outreach, the Assam Rifles sought to connect the historical legacy of Vande Mataram with contemporary messages of unity and civic participation.
The programmes also highlighted the role of the armed forces in strengthening military-civil cooperation through sustained engagement with communities. The participation of students, teachers and local residents provided a platform for dialogue and interaction beyond routine security-related activities.
The celebrations across the three northeastern states underscored the cultural and national significance of Vande Mataram while encouraging younger generations to understand and appreciate India's shared heritage.
