Jammu, Aug 11: A police head constable was critically injured after a tractor allegedly hit him at a naka in the Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu and fled the spot.
The injured officer has been identified as Jai Pal Singh, posted at Police Station Bakshi Nagar. He was reportedly performing naka duty when the tractor struck him before the driver fled the scene.
The injured policeman was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to a private hospital for further medical care.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and launched an investigation to trace the tractor and identify its driver.
Investigators are examining the circumstances of the incident, including the vehicle’s movements before and after the collision.
