Srinagar, September 10: Srinagar Police has attached and frozen immovable properties worth more than Rs 6.22 crore in six cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as part of its ongoing action against drug trafficking.
The latest proceedings were carried out by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, while similar action had earlier been taken by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar.
In the latest action, Nigeen Police attached a double-storey residential house and adjoining land at Danihama in Hazratbal, valued at around Rs 1.10 crore. The property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli and is linked to FIR No. 24/2026 registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act. The action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the Act.
Zakura Police separately attached a residential house and land worth approximately Rs 1.14 crore at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal. The property belongs to Zubair Ahmad Rather and is connected with FIR No. 44/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Earlier proceedings by Shalteng Police included freezing a property worth around Rs 1 crore belonging to Mohd Altaf Dar of Mujgund. The property consists of a single-storey house and 11.5 marlas of land and is linked to FIR No. 76/2025.
In another case, Shalteng Police froze property valued at around Rs 43 lakh belonging to Riyaz Ahmad Bhat of Panzinara in connection with FIR No. 87/2025.
Ahmad Nagar Police attached property worth approximately Rs 2.2 crore belonging to Owais Ahmad Mir of Baghaat Shoora in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 under Sections 8/21, 27-A and 29 of the NDPS Act. The action was taken following confirmation from the Competent Authority, SAFEMA, New Delhi.
Lal Bazar Police also attached a double-storey house and 3.5 marlas of land valued at more than Rs 35 lakh. The property belongs to Waseem Ahmad Langoo of Lal Bazar and is linked to FIR No. 52/2023.
The attachment and freezing orders prevent the concerned property holders from selling, leasing, transferring or creating any third-party interest in the properties.
Police said the action is aimed at disrupting the financial networks supporting drug trafficking and reflects its continued crackdown on the illegal drug trade under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
