August 19, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Agartala, Aug 18: The Red Shield Division under the Spear Corps has commenced Phase-II of pre-recruitment training for Agniveer aspirants at Agartala Military Station, with the initiative aimed at equipping young candidates with the physical fitness, academic preparedness, discipline and determination required for military service.

The second phase follows the successful completion of Phase-I and involves a selected group of aspirants undergoing an intensive training programme designed to further strengthen their readiness for the Agniveer recruitment process.
The training focuses on advanced physical conditioning, stamina and strength development, alongside structured academic classes. The programme is intended to help candidates improve their overall performance and meet the demanding physical and mental standards associated with military service.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army's continued emphasis on engaging with youth and creating opportunities for motivated young people to pursue a career in the armed forces. Beyond physical preparation, the training seeks to instil qualities such as discipline, perseverance, teamwork and commitment to national service.
During the programme, participants are being guided through progressively challenging physical exercises aimed at improving endurance, strength and overall fitness. Academic sessions are being conducted alongside physical training to help aspirants strengthen their preparation for the recruitment examinations and related selection requirements.
The continuation of the programme into its second phase also provides an opportunity for instructors to build upon the progress achieved during the initial training and provide more focused guidance to selected candidates.
The Army's initiative is particularly aimed at enabling local youth to approach the recruitment process with greater confidence and preparedness. Such programmes can help aspiring candidates understand the demands of military service while encouraging them to adopt a disciplined approach towards fitness, education and personal development.
The training also underscores the importance of sustained preparation in competitive recruitment processes, where physical fitness, academic ability and mental resilience collectively determine a candidate's readiness.
The Red Shield Division said the initiative is part of its broader effort to empower youth with skills, discipline and determination to serve the nation.
As Phase-II progresses, the participating Agniveer aspirants are expected to continue their rigorous preparation, with the programme providing them a structured environment to sharpen their capabilities and pursue their aspirations of joining the armed forces.
