Srinagar, Aug 20: Security checks were intensified in and around Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday, with police and CRPF personnel conducting searches of parked vehicles and other areas as part of a security exercise.

Srinagar Police, along with personnel of the 132 Battalion CRPF, carried out checking in Lal Chowk and adjoining areas.

Security teams also searched parking lots and inspected vehicles parked at various locations.

Sniffer dogs were deployed during the operation to assist personnel in examining vehicles and surrounding areas.

The exercise was part of heightened security checks in the city centre, with personnel inspecting vehicles and conducting searches at identified locations.
