Budgam, September 12: A 29-year-old man and his three-year-old son were killed in a road accident in the Soibugh area of Budgam district on Saturday, while the man's wife suffered critical injuries.

Officials said the accident occurred when a car collided with a motorcycle carrying the family. The motorcycle was being ridden by Naseer Ahmad Mir, a resident of Ghoom Ahmadpora, Magam. His wife, Dilshada Akhter, 26, and their three-year-old son Hadi were travelling with him.

The impact left Naseer Ahmad Mir and his son dead at the spot. Dilshada Akhter sustained critical injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The car was reportedly being driven by Nadeem Imtiyaz Mir, a resident of Nishat, and was travelling from Budgam towards Soibugh when the collision took place.

Officials said several other vehicles were also damaged in the incident.

Police have taken cognizance of the accident and started an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
