Kokernag Hit-and-Run Case Solved, Accused Arrested, Vehicle Seized
Anantnag, Sep 13: Police have solved the Kokernag hit-and-run case with the arrest of the accused and seizure of the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident, days after the accident.
The incident took place on September 6, resulting in the death of Tariq Ahmad Khalas, son of Mohammad Sharief Khalas, a resident of Shalnad Lisser.
Following the incident, FIR No. 133/2026 was registered at Police Station Kokernag under Sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police identified the arrested accused as Mohd Ashraf Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Naikpora, Kulgam. The vehicle allegedly involved in the hit-and-run has also been seized.
The case was solved by Police Station Kokernag under the supervision of SDPO Kokernag and the SHO Kokernag.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
