Thoubal, Aug 17: The Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised a grand Band Display and Cultural Programme at the historic Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal, Manipur, celebrating the spirit of India’s 80th Independence Day through music, culture and national pride.

The event brought together local citizens, civil administration officials, students and NCC cadets, providing a vibrant platform to celebrate the country's rich cultural heritage and reinforce the message of unity and shared national identity.
A major attraction of the programme was the Khukri Dance, which showcased the martial traditions and cultural heritage associated with the region. The performance was complemented by impressive Jazz and Pipe Band displays, adding a musical dimension to the Independence Day celebrations.
