
Srinagar, Aug 19: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Wednesday reviewed arrangements at major mosques and shrines across the Valley ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) and the following Friday.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, police and civic authorities, KPDCL, PHE, Health, Traffic, Wakf Board and other concerned departments.
Special focus was placed on Hazratbal Shrine, where more than one lakh devotees are expected. Garg directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted power with backup generators, adequate drinking water, transport facilities, sanitation and crowd management.
Traffic Police were asked to prepare route plans to prevent congestion, while SRTC, SSCL and ARTO were directed to deploy sufficient buses and e-autos, including late-hour services.
Wakf authorities were asked to arrange tents, while SMC was directed to intensify cleanliness drives around religious sites.
Health teams and medical camps will be deployed, with Fire & Emergency Services instructed to position fire tenders at vulnerable locations.
Market-inspection teams were also directed to monitor food quality, hygiene and prices and take strict action against overcharging or violations.
Deputy Commissioners briefed the Divisional Commissioner on preparations in their respective districts and were directed to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential services throughout the occasion.
