Srinagar, Sep 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has appreciated the Armed Forces Medical Services for organising a major eye surgery camp under Operation Drishti in Tangdhar, Karnah.
Taking to X, Sinha said the successful restoration of vision for 220 people at an underground operation theatre in a difficult border location was a significant achievement.
He commended the medical team headed by Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra for its commitment and service to residents of remote areas.
The Lieutenant Governor said the camp brought specialised ophthalmic procedures, including phacoemulsification, retinal surgeries and glaucoma treatment, closer to communities living in border hamlets.
Sinha also praised the surgeons and support personnel of the Armed Forces Medical Services for their efforts in providing advanced eye care to people in the remote border region.
