Srinagar, Sep 2: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has approved a comprehensive revision of the Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for the Poor (CTMFP), aimed at making financial assistance more accessible and patient-centric for economically weaker patients.
Under the revised scheme, the annual income eligibility limit has been increased to Rs 4 lakh, while the financial assistance has been enhanced to Rs 75,000.
The government has also allowed repeat assistance for up to three sanctions and expanded the scheme’s coverage to all hospitals empanelled under PMJAY-SEHAT.
To ensure timely financial support and reduce delays, the assistance will now be transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, officials said.
