Srinagar, Sep 22: The second day of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly session witnessed heated exchanges and repeated disruptions on Tuesday, as legislators from the BJP, National Conference and Congress engaged in sharp arguments over several political and public issues.
The proceedings turned tense as members from the ruling and opposition benches traded allegations and raised issues concerning governance, employment, recruitment and other matters affecting the people.
BJP legislators raised questions over various government policies and administrative issues, while members of the National Conference and Congress highlighted concerns including the restoration of statehood and issues facing the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The heated exchanges led to repeated interruptions in the House, with legislators engaging in verbal arguments and raising slogans. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather intervened on several occasions and urged members to maintain order and allow the proceedings to continue.
The confrontation came amid broader political differences between the BJP and the ruling National Conference over governance, employment, recruitment, regularization of temporary workers, electricity and the restoration of statehood.
The ongoing session has also seen legislators raise concerns related to daily-wage workers, open merit, employment opportunities and other issues concerning youth.
The second day of the session reflected the continuing political differences among the parties, with proceedings repeatedly affected by heated exchanges between members.
