Anantnag, July 24: Jamiat Ahl e Hadith has cancelled its religious gathering that was scheduled for July 26 at the Sports Ground in Veeri, Bijbehara, in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, due to persistent rainfall and waterlogging at the venue.
The organisers said continuous rain had inundated the ground, making it unfit to host a large congregation. Following an assessment of the situation, the event was called off in the interest of public safety.
They said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and convenience of participants, with adverse weather continuing to affect several areas across Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing regret over the cancellation, the organisation appealed to the public for understanding and cooperation, stating that the move was made solely to safeguard attendees amid the prevailing weather conditions.
