
Poonch, Oct 3: The Indian Army detained a 17-year-old girl from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir after she was found crossing the Line of Control in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district.
According to officials, Army personnel noticed the movement of a woman near the LoC in the Lam sector of Nowshera and subsequently detained her.
The girl was identified as Samiya Azeem, 17, daughter of Mohd Azeem and a resident of Khuiretta in PoJK.
Officials said the Army conducted preliminary questioning before handing her over to the local police.
The teenager is currently being questioned by Nowshera Police. During questioning, she reportedly stated that she had crossed into the Indian side of the LoC inadvertently.
Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
