Hot And Humid Weather To Continue In J&K, Mostly Dry Conditions Expected From September 2

September 01, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Srinagar, Sep 1: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally hot and humid weather on Tuesday, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected at many places, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar.

The weather department has forecast brief spells of intense rainfall in some areas, particularly across parts of the Jammu division during the early morning and late afternoon or evening hours.

Authorities have cautioned that intense localized showers could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas.

People living in areas prone to flooding and landslides have been advised to remain alert and exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall.

From September 2 to 10, weather conditions are expected to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir. However, isolated to scattered areas may continue to receive brief spells of rain and thundershowers, mainly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The forecast indicates a decline in widespread rainfall activity after Tuesday, although occasional showers may continue in some parts of the Union Territory during the following days.
