Handwara, Oct 22: Handwara Police have arrested a suspect for allegedly putting up anti-national and provocative posters at a public place, uncovering a suspected terror poster network in the area.

Police have registered FIR No. 259/2026 at Police Station Handwara under relevant provisions of law following the incident, which took place within its jurisdiction.

During the investigation, police found suspected links involving Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and other individuals in the alleged conspiracy. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest other persons suspected to be involved.

Investigators are continuing their probe to establish the full extent of the network and determine the specific roles of those connected with the case.

Handwara Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, public order and security, stating that legal action would be taken against those involved in unlawful activities.

Police have also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
