Poonch, September 6: Eight people were injured after a Tata Sumo rolled down on the Bedar-Dunogam link road in Mandi area of Poonch district on Sunday.

Officials said the Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK12-6675 was travelling along the Bedar-Dunogam road when the vehicle met with an accident at Bedar and rolled down, leaving eight occupants injured.

The injured have been identified as Mohammad Arif, 17, son of Abdul Majeed, Sharaz Ahmed, 15, son of Musthaq Ahmed, Naseer Ahmed, 16, son of Musthaq Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed, 20, son of Abdul Gani, Habib Dar, 70, son of Aziz Dar, Zahid Ahmed, 18, son of Abdul Rasheed, Mohammad Shafi, 22, son of Fata Mohammad, and Iqlak Ahmed, 18, son of Mohammad Bashir.

Seven of the injured are residents of Dunogam, while Zahid Ahmed is from Rajouri.

All the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Mandi for treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the accident and further investigation is underway.
