Assam Rifles pays tribute to fallen hero

New Delhi, Aug 31: Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, along with all ranks of the force, paid tribute to a brave soldier who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on August 31, 1969.

Remembering the fallen soldier, the Assam Rifles leadership honoured his courage, dedication and ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. The force recalled the soldier as a symbol of the commitment and selflessness that have long defined the Assam Rifles.
The tribute highlighted the enduring tradition of remembrance within the force, which continues to honour personnel who laid down their lives while discharging their duties. Their sacrifices remain an integral part of the Assam Rifles’ institutional legacy and serve as an inspiration for serving personnel.
Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera and all ranks reaffirmed their respect for the fallen soldier and his contribution to the nation. The remembrance also underscored the solemn bond shared by serving personnel, veterans and the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
