Assam Rifles guides Nagaland students on career choices

August 12, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Peren, Aug 11: Assam Rifles organised a career counselling lecture at Government Senior Secondary School, Athibung, in Peren district of Nagaland on August 10, engaging students on career opportunities, skill development and pathways to higher education.

The interactive programme was aimed at helping students better understand the range of educational and professional opportunities available to them and make informed choices about their future.
During the session, students were encouraged to identify their interests and strengths, develop relevant skills and pursue education and training that can help them achieve their career aspirations. The interaction also highlighted the importance of discipline, confidence, perseverance and continuous learning in achieving long-term goals.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to interact directly with Assam Rifles personnel and gain a broader understanding of career options, including opportunities associated with the security forces. The interaction sought to dispel apprehensions, encourage positive engagement and motivate young people to explore avenues for personal and professional growth.
The initiative forms part of Assam Rifles’ wider community outreach efforts in the Northeast, where engagement with students and youth remains an important component of strengthening relations with local communities.
By facilitating career guidance at the grassroots level, such programmes can help students make better-informed decisions at crucial stages of their education while exposing them to opportunities beyond their immediate surroundings.
The initiative also reinforced the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, communities and security forces in supporting youth development. The interaction served as a platform for dialogue and encouraged students to approach their future with greater confidence and clarity.
The career counselling programme reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to youth empowerment, education, community development and stronger civil-military relations in the region
