Army Red clinch inter-services Basketball title

New Delhi, Sep 10: Indian Army Red were crowned champions of the 74th Inter-Services Basketball Championship 2026–27 after defeating the Indian Air Force 81–50 in a one-sided final at Mercury Stadium, Army Basketball Node, 1 Army Headquarters Signals Regiment.
Army Red produced a dominant all-round display, combining sharp shooting, disciplined defence and excellent teamwork to outclass the Air Force and claim the championship title in convincing fashion.
The tournament brought together top basketball talent from the three Services, with teams showcasing high-quality competition, determination and exemplary sporting spirit throughout the championship.
In the final standings, Indian Army Red finished first, followed by the Indian Air Force in second place, Indian Navy in third and Indian Army Green in fourth.
Lt Gen Vivek Dogra, SM, Signal Officer-in-Chief and Colonel Commandant, graced the final as the Chief Guest and congratulated all participating teams for their spirited performances, sporting excellence and commitment to the game.
The championship also highlighted the values of jointmanship, camaraderie, discipline and service before self, as players displayed professionalism and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
The successful conclusion of the 74th edition marked another significant chapter in Services basketball, celebrating sporting excellence while further strengthening camaraderie and the spirit of teamwork among the Armed Forces
