Srinagar, Sep 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has invited offline applications for allocation of four MBBS seats under the Central Pool for spouses and children of victims of terrorism for the academic session 2026-27.
As per the notification, one seat each has been earmarked at A.N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya in Bihar, and Grant Medical College, Mumbai in Maharashtra. Two seats have been allocated at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
Applicants must be permanent residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and must be either the spouse or child of a deceased or disabled civilian victim of terrorism. Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or attain the required age by December 31 of the admission year.
Candidates must also meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the National Medical Commission, including passing Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English individually with the prescribed marks. They must also qualify NEET UG 2026.
Selection will be based on the NEET UG 2026 rank secured through the examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. No separate examination will be conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
BOPEE clarified that submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Final allocation will be made by the concerned Ministry in accordance with the applicable rules. The reservation policy of the UT of J&K will also apply to these Central Pool MBBS seats.
Under the prescribed priority system, preference will first be given to children whose both parents were killed by terrorists. The second priority will cover children whose sole breadwinner was killed by terrorists, while the third priority will include wards of victims who suffered permanent disability or serious injuries due to terrorist operations.
The benefit under Priority I and Priority II will be restricted to one ward from a family.
Applicants are required to submit documents including Domicile Certificate, NEET Score Card, Class 12 marks certificate, Date of Birth Certificate and Category Certificate, wherever applicable.
Additional documents include FIR, Death Certificate, Postmortem Report and an affidavit stating that no other family member has received the benefit under this category. Applicants under Priority II must submit a certificate confirming that the deceased was the sole breadwinner. The certificate must be issued by the concerned SHO and hospital, countersigned by the SSP and Tehsildar, and authenticated by the Administrative Secretary, Home Department.
For Priority III, applicants must provide a certificate confirming the nature of injury and disability, verified by the State Police or Home Department.
The last date for submitting applications in duplicate through physical mode at BOPEE offices in Jammu or Srinagar is September 15, 2026, up to 4 PM.
