Srinagar, Aug 11: The Open Kashmir Table Tennis Tournament, organized by the District Srinagar Table Tennis Association under the aegis of the J&K Table Tennis Association concluded successfully today at the SKISC, Srinagar.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 100 players from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, who competed across different age categories and events. The championship featured highly competitive matches, showcasing the talent, dedication and sportsmanship of the participating players.
The winners and runners-up in various categories were:
Under-15 Boys: Mohd. Adam emerged as the winner, while Syed Rayyan finished as runner-up.
Under-19 Boys: Mohd. Adam clinched the title, with Usman finishing as runner-up.
Senior Men: Ayyan Riyaz secured the championship, while Wasid Reshi was the runner-up.
Veteran Men: Wasid Reshi emerged victorious, defeating Dr. Rouf in the final.
Under-19 Girls: Razan Abid claimed the title, while Xernain finished as runner-up.
Senior Women: Zainab emerged as the winner, with Xernain securing the runner-up position.
In the Doubles events, Dr. Inaam and Aizaz emerged victorious in the Men’s Doubles, while Dr. Rouf and Ayyan finished as runners-up. In the Women’s Doubles, Arwa and Razan claimed the title, with Muntaha and Zainab finishing as runners-up.
In the Mixed Doubles, Wasid Reshi and Rosalie emerged as champions, while Aizaz and Razan secured the runner-up position.
The tournament provided a valuable platform for players from different districts to compete against one another and gain exposure at the open level.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, The guests congratulated all the winners and participants for their impressive performances and appreciated the organizers for providing a competitive platform for emerging table tennis players.
