The deceased has been identified as Aaira Kouser, daughter of Imtiaz Ahmed and Tahira Kouser, a resident of Upper Uchhad in Mankote area of Mendhar.

According to the family, the child was given glucose and an injection at Uzain Medical Hall in Uchhad. They alleged that she subsequently developed severe swelling across her body and her condition deteriorated.

The girl was initially taken to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar and later referred to GMC Rajouri. She was subsequently shifted to GMC Jammu for specialised treatment, where she died.
