Imphal, Aug 10: Security forces have apprehended 10 cadres and recovered 41 weapons, explosives and other war-like stores during a week-long series of intelligence-based joint operations across several districts of Manipur, officials said.

The operations were conducted from August 2 to 9 by formations of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in coordination with Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The coordinated operations were carried out across both hill and valley districts, including Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Kakching and Kangpokpi.
Among those apprehended was the self-styled SS Army Chief of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), according to security officials.
The forces recovered a total of 41 items comprising weapons, explosives and other war-like stores during the operations. The seizures are being viewed as a significant step towards disrupting the operational capabilities and networks of armed groups operating in the state.
The operations were based on specific intelligence inputs and involved coordinated action by multiple security agencies across geographically challenging areas.
Officials said the joint approach enabled security forces to conduct targeted operations while maintaining close coordination among the Army, Assam Rifles, state police and central forces.
The apprehension of the cadres and recovery of the weapons and explosive material are expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen security and prevent armed groups from carrying out disruptive activities.
Security forces have continued intelligence-based operations across vulnerable areas of Manipur amid efforts to maintain peace and stability in the state.
