
Srinagar, July 26: A youth was killed and an 18-year-old girl sustained injuries after two motorcycles collided on Chanapora Bridge in Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.
Officials said that the accident involved a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04-4193 and another unidentified motorcycle.
The deceased has been identified as Imad Aijaz, son of Aijaz Ahmad Mughal, a resident of Karnah, presently putting up at Sebdan, Budgam. He died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
The pillion rider, Muskan, daughter of Danish Hussain Shah, a resident of Tangdhar, presently residing at Bemina, sustained injuries in the accident. She was shifted to Government Hospital Barzulla for treatment.
Officials said the rider of the other motorcycle fled from the spot immediately after the accident along with the vehicle.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to identify the absconding rider and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
