Baramulla, July 27: The VARMUL Gindo Chess Championship, organised by Dagger Division of the Indian Army in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, District Chess Association and District Sports Association Baramulla, concluded at SRM Welkin Educational Trust, Sopore.

The closing ceremony was attended by Chairman SRM Welkin Educational Trust, Mr Omar Azhar Kakroo; President District Sports Association and former President MC Baramulla, Hakeem Abdul Aziz; and former Deputy Director, My Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The guests distributed medals among the winners and runners-up and appreciated the efforts of all participants and officials. They encouraged young athletes to continue pursuing sports with dedication and discipline.
The dignitaries also expressed gratitude to the Indian Army’s Dagger Division and J&K Sports Council for organising the championship and providing a platform to promote chess talent in the region.
