Srinagar, May 7: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Srinagar have attached immovable properties worth over ₹2 crore belonging to notorious drug peddlers in the Chanapora and Qamarwari areas of Srinagar.

In the first action, Police Station Chanapora attached a double-storey residential house with attic worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to accused Huzaif Shabir Dar son of Shabir Ahmad Dar resident of Budshahnagar Chanapora , involved in FIR No. 01/2024 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chanapora.
During the course of investigation, it was conclusively established that the said property had been acquired through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking. Accordingly, the property was attached under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were carried out strictly in accordance with due legal procedure and in the presence of independent witnesses. As per the attachment order, the owner has been prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, or creating any third-party interest in the property until further orders.
In another significant action, Police Post Qamarwari attached a double-storey residential house belonging to Notorious drug peddler Basit Ahmad Baba @ Aikan son of Mohd Yousuf Baba resident of Barthana Qamarwari under the provisions of Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The said immovable property, recorded in the name of his father Mohd Yousuf Baba son of Ghulam Ahmad Baba, falls under Khasra No. 100 and has an estimated market value of more than ₹1 crore. The action forms part of J&K Police’s continued efforts to dismantle the financial networks of drug peddlers by targeting assets acquired through illicit narcotics trade.
J&K Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of drug abuse and trafficking by taking stringent legal action not only against offenders but also against properties and assets generated through illegal drug trade.
The general public is once again appealed to cooperate with Police and share information related to drug peddling and substance abuse to help build a safer and drug-free society.
