Itanagar, Mar 6: In a vibrant observance of World Wildlife Day, the Spearhead Gunners under #SpearCorps organized a comprehensive awareness programme at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Kiyit. The initiative combined environmental conservation activities with educational engagement for school students.

The event began with a tree plantation drive, where soldiers and students jointly planted saplings around the school premises, emphasizing the role of greenery in sustaining wildlife habitats and preserving biodiversity. The hands-on activity allowed students to understand the practical significance of afforestation and its impact on local ecosystems.
Following the plantation drive, a wildlife awareness session was conducted, highlighting the importance of protecting endangered species, understanding human-wildlife coexistence, and curbing practices that harm the natural environment. The session engaged students through interactive discussions, videos, and quizzes, making the learning experience both informative and enjoyable.
To encourage creativity and reinforce the conservation message, a poster-making competition was held, allowing students to express their ideas on wildlife protection, forest conservation, and sustainable practices.
