Tezu, Sep 25: Troops of the Spear Corps celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Day at Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the importance of youth participation in nation-building, social responsibility and environmental conservation.

The event brought together the spirit of community service and youth engagement through activities aimed at encouraging a greater sense of responsibility towards society and the environment.
A competition centred on social responsibility was organised to promote awareness among participants about their role in contributing to community welfare and nation-building. The initiative highlighted the importance of active youth participation in addressing social issues and strengthening community bonds.
As part of the celebrations, troops also conducted a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Fruit-bearing saplings were planted as a message of environmental stewardship and collective responsibility towards preserving nature.
The plantation initiative sought to encourage sustainable practices while reinforcing the significance of protecting the environment for future generations. The activity also provided an opportunity for troops and the local community to come together for a common environmental cause.
The NSS Day observance underscored the broader values of volunteerism, service and civic responsibility, while reflecting the Spear Corps’ continued emphasis on community engagement and youth empowerment in the region.
