Dimapur, April 1: The Spear Corps successfully concluded its 10-day Internship Programme at Dimapur Military Station in Nagaland, aimed at familiarising students with the functioning of the Indian Army and encouraging youth participation in nation-building.
The programme brought together students from different institutions who were given an opportunity to interact with senior military officials and gain first-hand exposure to Army life and operations. Sessions were conducted on leadership, discipline, teamwork and decision-making, highlighting the values that shape military service.
As part of the internship, participants also undertook exposure visits within the military station, allowing them to observe various aspects of day-to-day functioning in the armed forces. These visits were designed to give students practical insight into organisational structure, operational readiness and logistical coordination.
A key focus of the programme was awareness on responsible social media usage, with officials sensitising students about the impact of digital behaviour, misinformation and online conduct. Discussions also emphasised the importance of constructive engagement on social platforms, particularly among youth.
In addition, interactive sessions were held on opportunities in the Indian Army, where students were briefed on career pathways, recruitment processes and the role of the armed forces in national security and development.
The programme also included discussions on nation-building, encouraging participants to contribute positively to society through discipline, service and civic responsibility. Officials said the initiative was designed to inspire leadership qualities and strengthen the connection between youth and the armed forces.
At the conclusion of the 10-day programme, the Army expressed hope that the experience would motivate students to pursue careers in uniformed services and contribute meaningfully to the country’s future.
