Anjaw/Noklak, Oct 27: In a concerted effort to extend essential healthcare services to people living in remote and frontier areas of Northeast India, formations under Spear Corps and Assam Rifles organised medical camps in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, providing free medical check-ups, consultations and medicines to local residents.
In Arunachal Pradesh, a medical team conducted a camp at Dhanbari village in Anjaw district, offering free health check-ups and medicines to villagers, including children. The initiative aimed to improve access to basic healthcare for residents of the remote area, where access to medical facilities can be challenging.
The medical team attended to local residents and provided necessary medical assistance, helping address basic healthcare needs at the community level. Special attention was also extended to children as part of the outreach effort.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp in Noklak district of Nagaland, where villagers benefited from medical examinations, consultations and the distribution of medicines. The camp was aimed at bringing essential healthcare services closer to people in remote settlements and promoting community well-being.
The initiatives reflect the continued efforts of security force formations in the Northeast to support civilian welfare alongside their operational responsibilities. By organising medical outreach programmes in far-flung areas, the forces seek to help bridge gaps in access to basic healthcare and provide timely assistance to underserved communities.
Such initiatives also strengthen engagement between security forces and local residents, fostering trust and cooperation through people-centric welfare activities.
Through these medical camps, formations under Spear Corps and Assam Rifles reaffirmed their commitment to the health, welfare and overall well-being of people living in the frontier regions of Northeast India.
