Shopian, Oct 27: As a part of the Police Commemoration Day, Police Flag Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2026 and the ongoing week long sports activities, J&K Police organised a Kho Kho tournament at Batapora Stadium Shopian to pay rich tribute to the valiant police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The tournament was inaugurated by DySP Hqrs Shopian accompanied by SHO Police Station Shopian. The event served as a heartfelt homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs while fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, discipline and unity among the youth. The participating teams from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian, were recognised for their enthusiasm, teamwork and sporting spirit. The winning and runners-up teams were felicitated for their commendable performance.
Police reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging youth involvement in sports and constructive activities, promoting peace, unity and mutual respect within the community. Such initiatives serve as a bridge between the police and the public, fostering a safer, healthier and more connected society.
