
New Delhi, Feb 17: The 4th edition of the Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup (Men & Women) 2026 commenced on February 17 in Shillong, Meghalaya, marking another significant step in promoting sports and youth engagement across the Northeast.
The tournament was inaugurated by Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, Additional Director General of the Assam Rifles, in the presence of senior military officials, local dignitaries, players, and sports enthusiasts. The event is being supported by sponsor North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO).
In his inaugural address, Maj Gen Bainsla highlighted the importance of sports as a tool for fostering discipline, teamwork, and national integration.
