New Delhi, Aug 2: The Assam Rifles has expressed gratitude to the State Bank of India (SBI) for the prompt settlement of Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) claims of two personnel of 40 Assam Rifles who laid down their lives in Manipur on July 6, 2026.

The beneficiaries include Warrant Officer (Late) Balwant Singh and Havildar (Late) Chandra Mohan Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their duties.
According to an official statement, SBI credited the insurance benefits on July 17, 2026, directly into the nominees' bank accounts, ensuring timely financial assistance to the bereaved families.
The settlement included the ₹1 crore Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) cover for each martyr along with an additional ₹10 lakh ambush benefit, providing crucial support to the families during a difficult time.
Assam Rifles said the swift processing of the claims reflects SBI's commitment towards the welfare of the families of soldiers who sacrifice their lives in the service of the nation.
The force appreciated the bank's continued support in standing firmly with the families of fallen heroes and recognising their courage, sacrifice and selfless service.
Officials said such timely financial assistance not only provides immediate relief to the next of kin but also reinforces the nation's commitment to honouring the sacrifices made by its brave security personnel.
