Rege Bridge inaugurated in AP’s Aalo

May 15, 2026 | BK News Service

Aalo May 14: Spearhead Division under Spear Corps inaugurated the Rege Bridge at Kabu Village in Aalo, marking a significant development aimed at improving local connectivity in the region.

The bridge has been named in honour of (Late) Lieutenant Colonel P. A. Rege, Vir Chakra awardee and a distinguished veteran of the 1962 war, recognising his courage, sacrifice and service to the nation.
Officials stated that the newly inaugurated bridge will greatly ease the movement of local residents by improving access and reducing travel difficulties in the area, particularly in remote and difficult terrain.
Beyond its infrastructural value, the Rege Bridge stands as a symbolic tribute to military heritage and remembrance. It reflects the spirit of selfless service and the strong bond between the armed forces and local communities, often described as military-civil fusion.
The inauguration was attended by Army personnel and local residents, who welcomed the project as a meaningful addition to regional infrastructure and a lasting memorial to a war hero.
