The District Youth Services & Sports department (DYSS) today hosted the Inter-Zonal District Level Cricket Tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls here on the iconic Chowgan Grounds.
The tournament brought together talented youth from five zones—Drabshalla, Kishtwar, Nagseni, Paddar and Inderwal—who competed with exceptional enthusiasm, teamwork and competitive zeal.
The event served as a platform to encourage healthy competition, identify emerging talent, and promote sports at the grassroots level across the district.
District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jaffer Haider Sheikh interacted with the young players, offering motivational words and advice on discipline, consistency and the core values of sportsmanship. His presence significantly uplifted the morale of the participants.
The tournament was closely supervised by ZEPOs from Kishtwar and Nagseni zones along with the other officials from the Youth Services & Sports Department. Matches were conducted in accordance with guidelines and safety protocols, ensuring a secure and inclusive sporting environment.
