
As a part of the Police Commemoration Day observance, police in Shopian inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School Heerpora besides, concluded Badminton & Volleyball tournaments in Awantipora to pay tribute to the valiant police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Shopian Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, in the presence of senior officers and officials of Police. The inaugural volleyball teams, including both winners and runners-up, were felicitated for their enthusiastic participation and exemplary sportsmanship.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Shopian emphasized that the tournament reflects the unity, strength and resilience of the police force and this is not merely a sporting event it is a tribute to our martyrs and a reminder that their spirit continues to inspire us to serve with courage and commitment.
Moreover in Awantipora, police successfully concluded Badminton (Girls - Senior/Junior) and Volleyball (Boys – Senior/Junior) tournaments at District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora to pay tribute to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Police reaffirmed its dedication to encouraging youth participation in sports and constructive initiatives, strengthening the police-public relationship through shared values of fitness, teamwork and mutual respect.
