Srinagar, Sep 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday told the Legislative Assembly that no serving engineer facing a case before the Central Bureau of Investigation, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Regular Departmental Action or criminal proceedings had been transferred prematurely.

The government said 526 engineers of the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department had been transferred or adjusted during the recent period, including 124 Executive Engineers and 402 Assistant Executive Engineers.
Replying to a question in the House, the government said the transfers and postings were carried out in accordance with administrative requirements and promotions.
It said cases involving engineers facing investigations or departmental and judicial proceedings were being dealt with separately, with details relating to pending investigations and court proceedings being maintained by the concerned authorities.
The government also said transfers were made after taking into account administrative requirements and the need for appropriate postings in the department.
