NMBA campaign activities intensify in Pulwama

Pulwama, May 22: As part of the ongoing 100-day campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of awareness, sports and enforcement activities were conducted today across various areas of District Pulwama to strengthen public participation in the fight against drug abuse and promote a healthy and drug-free society.
Awareness programmes were organised at Chewa Ullar Tral, Panzgam Awantipora and Washbugh Pulwama, where participants were sensitised regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of collective action in eradicating the menace of drugs from society.
The events featured a series of activities including awareness sessions, pledge ceremonies, signature campaigns, plantation drives and padyatras to encourage collective responsibility towards building a drug-free society.
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Pulwama conducted multiple sports and awareness activities across different educational zones of the district under the campaign.
In Zone Pulwama, yoga sessions, volleyball matches and awareness programmes were organised at HSS Hawl, HS Lajura and UPS Drusu to encourage students towards a healthy lifestyle and create awareness regarding the ill effects of drug addiction.
Besides, debates on the topic of peer pressure and its role in substance abuse, along with signature campaigns, were conducted at HS Rathsuna and other institutions of Zone Tral.
Meanwhile, a Zonal-Level U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Kho-Kho Tournament was successfully conducted at Indoor Stadium Rajpora under Zone Shadimarg, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students.
Similarly, in Zone Tahab, a pledge-taking ceremony and awareness rally under the intensive drug-free campaign were organised at HS Naina to spread the message of a drug-free society among students and the local community.
Furthermore, the Drug Control Department Pulwama conducted inspections of retail and wholesale drug sale establishments in Nikas, Rajpora and Pulwama areas to strengthen regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to prescribed norms under the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
Moreover, the School Education Department Pulwama organised debates and awareness activities across various educational institutions of the district, highlighting the importance of youth participation in combating drug abuse and promoting a healthy, disciplined and drug-free society.
