
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today inaugurated Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme for the children of 0-5 years age at JLNM Hospital, Rainawari, Srinagar by administering Polio drops to newborn infant, here.
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather; MS , JLNM Hospital and medical and Paramedical staff of the hospital were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Div Com said that about 11 lakh children will be administered Polio drops across Kashmir Division at 5391 Polio booths to eliminate the disease and protect children.
He said that 22059 vaccinators have been put on the duty to cover all the eligible population of children in Kashmir division.
Besides, he said 298 transit teams and 143 mobile teams have been constituted to make the immunization drive successful.
Meanwhile, he appealed to parents to take their children to the near by booths, health center or hospital for Pulse Polio drops and save their children from the disease.
Budgam
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza inaugurated the first phase of pulse polio programme at Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Budgam by administering Polio drops to children up to 5 years of age.
Chief Medical Officer, Budgam Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan, Dy. Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr. Tehmeena Bukhari, DTO, DIO, DPMU and other staff were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the DC deliberated upon the importance of administering polio drops to children up to 5 years to save them from polio throughout their life.
He urged parents to take their children to the nearby health booths to ensure their children remain safe and healthy.
Kupwara
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din inaugurated Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) drive by administering anti Polio drops to an infant, here at Sub District Hospital Kupwara in presence of Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, Block Medical Officer and DIO.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that140017 children below 5 years of age will get immunized under Pulse Polio programme in the district.

the Pulse Polio immunization campaign was launched by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary at CMO office Pulwama where he administered polio drops to the children.
Chief Medical Officer, Dy CMO, District Immunization Officer, Nodal Officer RBSK, Doctors and Paramedical staff were also present on the occasion.
After launching the drive, DC said that 89228 children of 0-5 years are to be administered Pulse Polio drop in district Pulwama for which 1966 personal of health department & Supervisors have been deployed at 468 Pulse Polio centres.
Ganderbal
Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah kick started the campaign for Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization here at District Hospital Ganderbal.
He started the campaign by administering oral anti-polio vaccine drops to the children in presence of the CMO, Dr. Afroza Shah, DyCMO, Dr. Nighat Yasmeen and MS DH Dr. Yasmeen Kangoo.
It was informed that 48781 children upto age of five years will be vaccinated during the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization programme in the district to protect them from the disease.

DDC, Chairperson Bilqees Jan along with the Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Sachin Kumar vaishya, SSP Shopian inaugurated Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization programme, at District Hospital Shopian where the DDC Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner started the campaign by administering oral anti-polio vaccine drops to new born infants in presence of CMO, Superintendent, Dy. CMO , DIO and other health functionaries.
Bandipora
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad inaugurated the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme by administering polio drops to a child at District Hospital, Bandipora.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Parveiza, DIO, Dr Parvaiz, Medical Superintendent and staff members of DH were present on the occasion.
DDC informed that 62000 children upto 5 years of age are being administered polio vaccines to protect them against the crippling disease.
He said 360 vaccination centres have been established in the district including in snow bound Gurez Valley besides 22 mobile transit teams.

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat started IPPI campaign by administering polio drops to new born children at District Hospital Kulgam.
ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kulgam, Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad Zargar; CMO, Dr Rafeeq and other staff from the Health Department were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner added that more than 80 thousand children will be administered Pulse Polio drops.

Additional Deputy commissioner, Anantnag, Gh Hassan Sheikh formally inaugurated the pulse polio immunization Programme at MCCH Anantnag.
ADC while speaking on the occasion said that 148198 polio doses will be administered at 650 Booths for which the Health department is fully prepared enough with 2600 health workers at ground to make the immunization drive a successful one.
