Lekhapani, Oct 15: A 12-day Army Attachment Camp for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets commenced at Lekhapani in Assam under the aegis of a formation of the Spear Corps, aiming to familiarise young participants with military life, discipline and the ethos of the Indian Army.
The camp is designed to provide NCC cadets with first-hand exposure to the Army’s professional environment while helping them develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, teamwork and a sense of responsibility towards the nation.
The opening day focused on military orientation and discipline, introducing the cadets to the values and traditions that underpin military service. The camp seeks to offer participants an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the demands, responsibilities and commitment associated with life in uniform.
Through the attachment programme, the Army aims to encourage the development of essential qualities such as camaraderie, punctuality, determination and collective responsibility. The initiative is also intended to help young cadets appreciate the importance of discipline, cooperation and leadership in both military and civilian life.
A key objective of the camp is to motivate cadets to explore career opportunities in the Indian Army and consider serving the nation in uniform. By providing direct exposure to the military environment, the programme seeks to help young participants make informed choices about a possible future in the armed forces.
The 12-day initiative reflects the Indian Army’s efforts to engage with youth through training and familiarisation programmes that promote leadership, national service and personal development.
The camp is expected to provide the participating cadets with valuable insights into military life while strengthening their confidence, team spirit and commitment to serving the country.
