‘Take Congress into confidence on governance, political issues’
Srinagar, May 7: Senior Congress leader and MLA Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Thursday asked National Conference to wholeheartedly respect the aspirations and concerns of the Congress and take the party into confidence on governance and political issues.
Talking to reporters on sidelines of a function in Anantnag, Mir said on all crucial public and political issues, NC should take Congress into confidence and ensure better coordination within the alliance.
He emphasised that mutual understanding and cooperation among coalition partners were non-negotiable for smooth governance and effective public welfare delivery.
“The NC cannot afford to ignore the voice of its alliance partner. Our concerns and aspirations must be respected wholeheartedly for the coalition to remain relevant and functional,” Mir said.
When asked about possible consequences if NC continues to overlook Congress’s concerns, Mir stopped short of issuing an ultimatum but reiterated that “governance and public interest suffer when partners are not taken into confidence.”
