Srinagar, Aug 2 : A joint team of security forces, comprising Pulwama Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Army's 44 Rashtriya Rifles, apprehended a man during a naka checking operation near Fruit Mandi Pachhar in the Rajpora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday.

Officials said that the accused has been identified as Tawseef Ahmad Dar, a resident of Drubgam Payeen in Pulwama district. During a thorough search, the security team recovered one hand grenade and a number of anti-national posters from his possession.
The accused was immediately taken into custody, while the recovered grenade and other incriminating material were seized as evidence.
Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of law, and an investigation has been launched to ascertain the origin of the recovered grenade and posters, their intended use, and whether the accused has links with any militant outfit or anti-national network.
Officials said further investigation is underway, and more arrests or recoveries cannot be ruled out.
